Student Dress Code Policy

Shirts
  • Solid white polo-style or collared button- down uniform shirts. 
  • Undershirts must be solid white and contain no graphics and/ or wording.
  • Shirts must not expose any of the midriff/ mid section or lower back. 
  • Spaghetti straps, fishnet, halter, tube, strapless, or tank tops are not permitted. 
  • Oversized shirts may not be worn.





Pants
  • Cargo- style or bottoms with zippers or pockets on pant legs are not permitted.
  • Skorts, leggings, yoga pants, sweatpants, joggers, and jeans are not permitted.
  • Basketball shorts are not permitted underneath school uniform pants. (Standard undergarments only)
  • All pants shall be worn at the waistline with no undergarments or skin showing (No sagging pants)
  • Pants/ shorts must be of appropriate size- not oversized and/ or too tight.
  • Solid khaki or black uniform pants or shorts (no shorter than  three inches above the knee).
  • Religious exceptions are allowed with documentation

Belts
  • Must be solid black or brown with a dress style buckle. (No excessive hardware or jewelry/ stones)

Jackets/Sweaters
  • Solid colored sweaters, vests, or sweatshirts may be worn over uniform shirts.
  • Hooded jackets, sweatshirts, and sweaters are not permitted at any time.
  • Jackets must not fall below the knee. (Trench coats are not allowed.)
  • Jackets must be worn open while in the building.

Shoes
  • Shoes must be enclosed (No open- toe or back styles), fastened/ tied properly and worn at all times.
  • Slides, slippers, house-shoes, flip-flops, swim-shoes, and croc-style shoes are not permitted.

Hats/ Headgear
  • Hats/caps, skull caps, scarves, bandanas, bonnets, and full face skull masks are not permitted.

Bags
  • Backpacks are not allowed in the building.
  • Handbags, purses, pocketbooks, and similar items must not be larger than 8.5 X 11 inches (size of a regular sheet of paper) and must not be large enough to contain a regular sized textbook.

Other regulations
  • Clothing, patches or jewelry with obscene/ inappropriate  images,  slogans/ signs, or emblems that advertise alcohol,  drugs/drug paraphernalia or promote gang activity are not permitted on the school campus.
  • Sunglasses are not to be worn in the buildings unless otherwise prescribed.
  • Perfume, body spray, or cologne bottles are not permitted inside of the school building.
  • Hair picks, rat tail combs, tweezers, and nail clippers are not permitted inside the school building.

Violations of the dress code shall be handled by the Dean of Students. If the student’s dress is deemed inappropriate or offensive, he/she shall be required to obtain appropriate clothing before being admitted to class. Violations of the dress code shall be dealt with according to the district discipline policy​​
