Heard Elementary Moves to Virtual Learning August 30-31

Published on: 8/29/2023

Weather Update and School Closure:
The track of Hurricane Idalia is expected to bring severe weather to our area with the greatest impact to Chatham County expected Wednesday through Thursday. As a precaution, Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools will close in-person learning and will shift to virtual learning on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, and Thursday, August 31, 2023.

Teachers at Heard Elementary are posting in their online classrooms and will be available for student questions via ClassDojo, email and/or phone from 9:00-10:00 each day, weather and technical support permitting.

In case of power outage, internet outage, etc., Choice Board assignments are being sent home. Choice Board assignments/online work shall be turned in for a classwork grade within 5 days upon return to school. Our goal is to ensure that the students of SCCPSS remain actively engaged in relevant learning activities and that they demonstrate content mastery.

Only those Heard students who have a completed technology use form on file in PowerSchool by 12:59 pm (8/29/23) will be allowed to bring a device home.

Stay safe, Gators!
