We are asking Seahawks to continue reading and to continue practicing a few critical math skills they will need next year.

Math packets were sent home with students, are available in our office and are attached for your convenience.

2022 Summer Reading Requirements

What Should I Read?

Students should read 2-4 books over the summer.  E-books, audiobooks and graphic novels are acceptable options, along with traditional novels. Students should select books that interest them and that they will enjoy reading.

How Will I Document My Reading?

Students will complete a Google form at the link below for each book they read.  If a student does not have access to technology, a handwritten paper version may be submitted when school resumes.  It should include the following for each book:

  1. In one paragraph summarize an important scene or turning point in the book.  Be sure to include WHAT happens, WHO is involved, WHY it is important and HOW it affects your reading of the book.
  2. Write a 1-2 paragraph personal response to the book.  What were your feelings? Did the text remind you of past experiences, people, or events in your life?  Did the text make you think of anything happening in the world or other stories you have read?
