As we continue to finish our 3rd quarter off strong, we want to encourage all scholars to check with their teachers about deadlines for any late work or make-up assignments for Q3. The quarter ends on March 7th.
Promotion
It is always important to keep student promotion qualifications in mind. Per SCCPSS Board of Education Regulation IHE-R: Promotion and Retention, students in grades 6-8 must:
Have a final grade of 70 or higher in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Have a final grade of 70 or higher in 75% of the total number of exploratory courses taken. (Each nine-weeks of a semester or year-long course will be considered as a complete exploratory for this purpose.)
- Meet the requirements of the system's attendance policy. (Policy JBA)
Special provisions can be made for students who are English Learners (ELs) and students with identified disabilities.
Additional measures may be considered to include performance on state required assessments and local formative assessments in Reading and Math.
