Published on: 5/4/2021

Dear 6th and 7th Grade Families,

As we near the end of the academic year, we are preparing for 6th and 7th Grade students who have Chromebooks on loan to return those devices to the school.  Please follow this schedule and guidelines to return your device.

If your student has MET all promotion requirements and will NOT be attending
Summer School:

May 17th and 18th: We will collect devices from 6th and 7th grade students who have met promotion requirements and are attending school in the buildingPlease make sure that your student brings their fully charged device AND charger to the building on those days.

May 19th-25th: (M-F, 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) We will offer curbside collection from all 6th and 7th grade students who have met promotion requirements, are attending school virtually, and who have not yet returned their device.  Parents should go to the bus ramp and call the media center at 395-3540 (press 5) to let us know you're here.

If you would like to use curbside return but are not able to get to the school during regular business hours, please fill out the form at this link and someone will contact you: http://bit.ly/swmsreturn.

In Preparation for Device Return: Please make sure you are returning a clean, fully charged device WITH the charger. If chargers are missing or there are damages to the device, including (but not limited to) a broken screen or missing keys, and you did not purchase insurance at the beginning of the year, the following charges will be applied to your student's Destiny Media Center account or you may pay them in cash (exact change) when you return the device:

Chromebook Screen: $50.00
Chromebook Keyboard: $50.00
Chromebook AC Adapter with Power Cord: $30.00

**NO STUDENT DEVICE WILL BE ISSUED FOR SCHOOL YEAR 21-22 UNTIL REPAIRS/REPLACEMENT HAS BEEN PAID (IF APPLICABLE). Written receipts will be given for all payments.

If your student has NOT MET promotion requirements and WILL be attending summer school, their devices will be collected July 26-28.  More information about this process will be forthcoming.
