Amphibians

​Amphibians are cold-blooded vertebrates that don’t have scales and need water or a moist environment to survive.​ Most amphibians go through a metamorphosis​ where they begin life completely in water and eventually evolve into land dwelling creatures. The collection of amphibians inside the Welcome Center at Oatland Island Wildlife Center are both native and non-native, or invasive, to our ecosystem.​
