Welcome our new Principal, Mrs. Rachel Hurst!
Mrs. Rachel Hurst is a Savannah native and spent her teenage years growing up in the Georgetown community. She has served as an educator for the past 12 years in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. She was a high school English teacher for six years where she enjoyed assisting many students in reaching their college and career goals. During her four years as an assistant principal, she worked with two dynamic teams to ensure that both schools demonstrated high levels of growth for their students. For the past two years she has worked as the Principal of Largo-Tibet Elementary. During that time, her small school achieved the status as a Lighthouse Leader in Me Academy.
Mrs. Hurst graduated from Windsor Forest High. She received her B.A. in English from Armstrong Atlantic State University and her M.Ed. in Leadership from Georgia Southern University. Outside of school, Mrs. Hurst is a wife and a mother to two teenage daughters who keep her very busy. As a family, they love to travel and spend time together.
More than anything, Mrs. Hurst believes that to create a lifelong learner, she must facilitate an education that is enjoyable for every child. She looks forward to working with her team to create a positive and happy school experience for every Georgetown Lion!
Welcome our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Kim Mole!
Mrs. Mole is a seasoned educator with 27 years of experience in the education profession. Her professional career has been guided by the Charles Kettering quote, “High Achievement always takes place in the framework of High Expectations.” She has worked in the Houston Independent School District, Houston, Texas; Bellflower Unified Schools District, Bellflower, California; and Gwinnett County Public Schools in North Georgia. She has been with Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools for the past 13 years. Her classroom experience includes teaching Kindergarten-5th grades and serving as a Title I Reading Coach. In addition, her passion for coaching and supporting new teachers is evident in her many years serving as an Instructional Coach in Gwinnett County and as Academic Coach at Windsor Forest Elementary School.
Mrs. Mole is a Savannah native graduating from Windsor Forest High School (Go Knights!). She holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Prairie View A&M University of Texas (Go Panthers!) and attended Walden University in pursuit of her doctorate degree specializing in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Mole is married to Richard R. Mole, Jr., enjoys spending time with her family, “Happy Planning”, reading mystery novels, and relaxing on the beach. She is very excited about joining “Lion Country” and looks forward to being a part of the Georgetown community.
