How Class Sessions Will Work:
Classes will be conducted using a variety of best practices for online learning (blended learning, live teacher sessions, self-paced, etc.) components. Courses contain reading assignments, activities, assessments and videos, as well as 'live' class sessions conducted by the teacher at predefined times. Each live class session is recorded, so that students can access sessions for review as needed.
All students in grades 3 – 8 must participate in the live sessions as scheduled. Students in grades 9 – 12 that have not demonstrated mastery/proficiency or are struggling to master standards/skills in their assigned courses are required to attend live classes during the established schedule. Assigned lab days for CTAE skills-based courses will be established for students in grades 6 – 12. Supplies for at home labs to aid in demonstrating mastery and practicing skills for various certifications will be provided.
The school will operate on a 5-day schedule with the 5th day designated for students to participate in networking and special projects. Savannah-Chatham E-Learning Academy students will participate in learning activities in accordance with the 180-day school calendar.
