Middle School Remote MAP Testing

Published on: 9/15/2020

Garrison's middle school students will take the NWEA MAP assessment remotely this week. Make sure you have completed your device readiness check and disabled your pop-up blockers. If you haven't done this, make sure you do it BEFORE 8am on Thursday.

Once your child is logged on and testing, PLEASE do not help your child read words they don't know, passages, and/or answer questions. This is an adaptive test, meaning it will only get harder the more questions they get right. In the same vein, it also gets easier as they answer questions incorrectly, until they find questions that are just right for them (think Goldilocks and the Three Bears). This data will ONLY be used to help inform teacher instruction and allow the district to measure learning loss from COVID-19. These scores WILL NOT be used for class placement, benchmarks, Choice Programs, gifted placement, etc.
