My name is Arden Beck, and I am a senior at Savannah Arts Academy. In the spring I was asked by a family friend to put together a team to fundraise for Savannah AMBUCS. Myself and three other SAA students make up Team SAA Panthers for a Purpose, and we are proud to represent our school and all of SCCPSS as Celebrity Bowlers with AMBUCS. To date through donations, sponsorships, and a silent auction event last month, we have raised over $2000, and our efforts will continue into October.

Savannah AMBUCS has the credo "Inspiring Mobility & Independence for People with Different Abilities." The organization accomplishes this in 3 ways. 1) Amtrykes (specially adapted 3-wheel bikes) are given to children, adults, & veterans who cannot ride regular bikes. 2) The organization hosts a bowling league every Saturday, as well as Challenger baseball and flag football play at AMBUCS park each Sunday for differently-abled athletes. 3) AMBUCS provides scholarships for students in physical, occupational, and speech therapy graduate programs. You can learn more about the charity by visiting their website: https://www.savannahambucs.com

The fundraiser will end with the annual Celebrity Bowlapalooza on October 8th. This event brings together teams of the community's high-profile leaders, high-school students, and corporations who have been raising money to bowl with the differently-abled who have and will benefit from Savannah AMBUCS.

I am asking you to please consider sponsoring a dress-down day at your school to help us in our fundraising efforts. The dress-down day could be anytime between now and October 1st. We are the only SCCPSS team, and we are up against several teams from area private schools and many businesses. Any money raised can be donated directly through our online donation link:
