Free Admission Family Weekend for Picasso to Hockney: Modern Art on Stage

Telfair offers free admission to the Jepson Center for all City of Savannah and Chatham County residents to see the major exhibition Picasso to Hockney: Modern Art on Stage. The exhibition features art created for the stage, set designs and costumes by some of the most famous artists of the 20th Century including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Louise Nevelson and more. See an original costume for from the debut performance of Stravinsky's The Firebird, costume designs for ballets scored by Rimsky-Korsakov, and set designs by Picasso!
Families may pick up take home art making kits with all supplies needed to make and decorate a tabletop puppet theater. There will also be a family photo booth activity and museum docents on hand to answer questions. Free admission is spread over three days to allow for social distancing, visitor capacity in galleries will be monitored, and masks are required. Free admission to all City of Savannah and Chatham County residents thanks to investment provided by the City of Savannah.
Also the Jepson Center's Community Gallery is featuring work by 4th Graders from the SCCPSS that were submitted to the museum electronically following our fall virtual field trips.
Finally, Telfair is offering free virtual field trips for the Picasso to Hockney exhibition through May. Virtual visits may be scheduled by contacting Carey Daughtry firstname.lastname@example.org
