SCCPSS Announces Summer Learning Program: EMBRACE The Whole Child

Published on: 4/6/2021

Students and parents looking for a robust learning recovery and acceleration program this summer won't have to look far in Chatham County.  Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools are offering two summer learning sessions that will enable students to achieve credit recovery, as well as academic acceleration and enrichment.  In addition, there will be several summer camps offered in collaboration with our Career and Technical Education department.

Bloomingdale Elementary  students and staff who participate will be going to Godley Station K-8 School, because there is not a summer site at every school. The programs are designed to be IN-PERSON, with no virtual or dual teaching component.

The summer learning program is called EMBRACE and will inspire students with meaningful learning experiences and engaging activities.  While it is our wish to be able to be able to hug all our students one day soon, the program name “EMBRACE" actually contains an acronym that spells out the objectives of the plan:  Readiness, Acceleration, Credit Acquisition and Enrichment for all students.

Here’s a video we created to show just how different THIS year of Summer Learning is going to be.
