​​A Guide to the SCCPSS Long Range Facility Plan, Building Use, School Capacity, and Attendance Boundaries
SCCPSS owns and operates a variety of facilities across 426 square miles in Chatham County.  Facility assets include school buildings, administrative offices, and other support structures.  In providing educational services for almost 37,000 students annually, our school district responds to the growth of our community, enrollment trends, and unique programmatic needs that prepare our students for success in an increasingly competitive global workforce.  Our facilities serve as key component providing educational spaces to serve students and the work spaces utilized by 5,600 staff members..  

The information that follows will provide a guide for improvements to facility assets, repurposing of our structures or modifications that improve the operational efficiency of the school district.  SCCPSS is obligated to ensure well maintained facility offerings that are conducive for high-quality teaching and learning.  To do so, extensive analysis is conducted to determine the feasibility of our facility assets, system life-cycles, deferred maintenance needs, capital renewal, educational, sustainability and utilization components.​​​​​
