Summer Early Focus for PreK through 2nd Grade

Published on: 3/26/2021

The summer program is open to approximately 500-750 students who were in Pre-K, K, Grade 1 and 2 for the school year 20-21.The Summer Early Focus program builds on children's learning during the school year. The curriculum will be state approved 2 Early Start programs.   It is highly engaging, and child-driven.  One SCCPSS teacher will support up to 12 students in each classroom with our Summer Early Focus curriculum.  Students will continue to engage in high quality instructional practices, take virtual field trips and have structured and unstructured play opportunities with the materials distributed in the weekly kits.  Learning kits will include materials such as scissors, Legos, clay, paper handouts, and books - all of which are for the children to keep.

Pre-K sites are:  Juliette Low Elementary School, West Chatham Elementary School, and White Bluff Elementary School.  If an additional site is necessary, Haven Elementary will be the location.
