The students selected an object that they would normally throw in the trash. They weighed the object and buried it in soil. A hypothesis and description of the activity was recorded in their STEAM Journal. In one month, they will uncover the objects and weigh them noting any changes. This will lead to a discussion why some objects decompose and a faster rate than others.
