Published on: 6/18/2021

Windsor Forest Elementary First Grade teacher Margarita McDonald has been selected to receive one of four 2021 Reclaiming the Joy of Teaching Awards from the organization Literacies and Languages for ALL.  The Reclaiming the Joy of Teaching Award honors a preK-12 teacher that inspires authentic progressive literacy learning.

McDonald was nominated and selected for this award based on her acknowledgement and use of each student's background experiences, cultures, and languages as a springboard for designing personalized lessons and engaging children in meaningful ways.

Ms. McDonald will be presented the award during the virtual 2021 LLA Summer Institute on Saturday, July 10th.
