In her “100 Day Plan," Dr. Watts outlined her desire to be the “lead learner" in the district and to adopt a learning orientation to fully understand the context of SCCPSS. “It is my hope that this plan demonstrates my commitment to building empowering relationships and soliciting the voices of others so that we have a shared meaning of success and what it will take to attain it," said Dr. Watts. “I want to gain insight into key events, issues, and concerns that influence or have influenced the school system."
To help her accomplish this goal, Dr. Watts has announced several dates for Community Conversations hosted by school board members in their respective districts. These listening sessions will help her learn about the values, expectations, and goals of the community. Participants will have the opportunity to offer feedback and input in a collaborative space that will allow Dr. Watts to conduct a “real time" examination of the current environment and further establish priorities for ensuring a quality education for each student.
Community Conversations are being held on the following dates and will be hosted by our respective Board members:
District 1 Hesse K-8 School October 11 6:00 p.m. (Board Member: Denise Grabowski)
District 4 Islands High School October 18 6:00 p.m. (Board Member: Shawn Kachmar)
