Published on: 3/22/2024

On Friday, March 22nd, 2024, representatives from the Georgia United Credit Union stopped by Pooler Elementary for a special surprise.

The Georgia United Credit Union is proud to announce that Pooler Elementary School has been selected as the fourth School Crashers grant recipient of 2024. Pooler Elementary is the second Savannah-Chatham County Public School to be selected as a recipient of this grant. Through the School Crashers grant, renovations will take place to create a sensory room at Pooler Elementary School.

This new sensory classroom will be a great benefit to Pooler Elementary as it will allow them to continue providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment. This sensory room will create a safe and calming environment for students with sensory processing challenges.
Renovations to provide a sensory classroom at Pooler Elementary are slated to begin this summer for completion before school starts in August.
Thank you, again, to our friends at Georgia United. Over 70 school Crashers grants have been awarded to various local communities. In total, Georgia United has invested over 2.1 million dollars to enhance educational spaces for nearly 50,000 students.
