STARBASE Savannah has re-opened its doors and held its first STARBASE class of 27 students the week of January 30th -Feb. 3rd, 2023 with Gould Elementary School. The first graduation speaker was Hunter Army Airfield Garrison Commander Lt. Colonel Cuthbertson and in attendance Mr. Travis Mobley, Deputy Garrison Commander and Mr. Will Kenyon COR of STARBASE Savannah.

The STARBASE Savannah team is actively building and collaborating on base and community STEM partnerships with participating in STEM outreach events.

STARBASE Savannah first launched in 2012 as a partnership between the Third Infantry Division and Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield with the Savannah-Chatham County School System, the STARBASE Savannah Foundation and Gulfstream to open the first-ever STARBASE Academy on an active-Army installation.
STARBASE Savannah provides fifth graders with one week of 20-25 hours of "hands-on, mind-on" activities in science, technology, engineering and math, using a common core curriculum that meets or exceeds national standards. The students interact with military personnel to explore careers and observe the subject applications in the real world.
