SCCPSS Continuing to Monitor Weather – No Change to School Operations on Wednesday

Published on: 10/9/2018

Savannah-Chatham County Public School officials continue to monitor the track of Hurricane Michael and the potential for impacts from tropical storm force conditions here in Chatham County.  SCCPSS remains in constant contact with the Chatham Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service for the most up to date information associated with this storm.

As previously announced, based on available information at this time, all schools will remain open on their regular operational schedules on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. However, SCCPSS has made the decision to cancel all afterschool activities on Wednesday.  The cancelation includes all afterschool athletics and 21st Century Programs.  The YMCA Pryme Tyme Program currently remains on its regular schedule.

SCCPSS officials will continue to monitor weather conditions over the next 24 hours and are closely reviewing forecasts that indicate a potential for severe weather on Thursday, October 11, 2018.  If a determination is made to change school operations on Thursday parents will be notified through the parent notification system, SCCPSS website and social media feeds Wednesday afternoon.

Please continue to monitor these sources for the latest and most accurate information from Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools.
