SCCPSS officials continue to monitor the track of Tropical Storm Elsa in consultation with the Chatham Emergency Management Agency and information from the National Weather Service. The current expected track of the storm is projected to bring dangerous weather conditions to our area this evening. Weather conditions are expected to improve by the early morning hours of Thursday, July 8, 2021.
As a precautionary measure, all District facilities will close today at 4:00pm. The 4:00pm closure includes all summer school/camp AFTERSCHOOL CARE activities. All athletic practices are also cancelled as of 12:00pm today.
Once again, all buildings and District facilities (including the District's Central Office located at 208 Bull Street) will close at 4:00pm today, July 7, 2021, due to the anticipated impacts associated with Tropical Storm Elsa. Only essential workforce, as directed by your supervisor, will be required to work beyond the 4:00pm closure.
SCCPSS expects to resume normal operational schedules on Thursday, July 8, 2021.
