Myers Middle School Recognized by GASSP as a 2023 Breakout School

Myers Middle School has been recognized by the Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals as a 2023 GASSP Breakout School Winner.

They received the recognition  at the GASSP Fall Conference held at the Savannah Riverfront Marriott on November 13-14, 2023. The Breakout Schools Award is designed to identify, recognize, and showcase Georgia middle schools that are high achieving or dramatically improving student achievement.

Schools apply for the designation through an application process that requires they show evidence of implemented strategies that fall under three core areas:
* Collaborative Leadership which demonstrates professional learning communities, shared leadership and student and staff leadership development.
* Personalization which demonstrates attention to all students, mentoring and school/community connections.
* Curriculum, instruction and assessment which demonstrates access to rigorous coursework for all students, differentiated instruction with multiple assessments, data-based decision making and opportunities for career development.​
