Marshpoint Teacher Wins Grand Prize from United Way of the Coastal Empire

Published on: 12/4/2020

During the 2020 United Way campaign, area businesses and individuals generously donated prizes to support the efforts of the campaign.  Each week, a winner was chosen from all who had attended a United Way presentation. The Grand Prize - a luxury cabin getaway with breath-taking views in Georgia's Blue Ridge Mountains – was awarded to Julie Lowe, a Pre-K teacher from Marshpoint Elementary Friday, December 4 in a surprise ceremony at the school.

The United Way campaign topped it's goal of $8 million on November.  The employees of the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System contributed over $145,000 to the total.  “Teachers see the needs every day;" said 2020 Campaign Chair, Terry Enoch, Chief of Campus Police for SCCPSS. “They see the needs in their students, and they know United Way can make a difference. They know how the dollars help."

Congratulations to Julie and thank you to all those who donated.  Your donation helps those right here at home!
