Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for New ESPLOST-Funded Islands High Athletic Complex

​A groundbreaking ceremony was held on April 11, 2019 to celebrate the beginning of construction of the new ESPLOST funded Islands High Athletic Complex. The complex will be located adjacent from Islands High School.


The project will consist of the construction of an artificial turf multipurpose field and a competition 8 lane track. The stadium bleachers will be sized to accommodate 2,000 spectators. The field house building will include home and visitor team rooms, concessions, and restrooms to serve the facility. The field will have LED lighting for evening events with a large vegetative buffer maintained along the south property line for privacy.
