Gould Elementary 21st Century Program Named Tops in SCCPSS for 2017-18 SY

Carrie E. Gould Elementary School’s 21st Century Program was named the TOP SCCPSS Program for the 2017-18 school year.  Barbara Pitts, Gould’s 21st Century Coordinator for 2017-18, and Maureen Walker, Gould’s 2018-19 Lead 21st Century Teacher accepted the awards on behalf of the Gould program.  In addition to the Top Program Award - under Mrs. Pitt’s leadership, and with the dedication of the Gould 21st Century staff, Gould Elementary also garnered the Certificate of Excellence for the following areas:

·         100% Achievement of their Goals and Objectives

·         84.3% Attendance

·         GMAS Accomplishments:

o   The highest number of 21st Century Students to Achieve Level 4 in Math

o   The highest number of 21st Century Students to Achieve Level 3 in Math

o   The highest number of 21st Century Students to Achieve Level 3 in ELA

o    

21st Century Community Learning Centers provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
