Facilities Planning - Grandfathering For New Hampstead High School, New Hampstead K-8, and Rice Creek K-8

Published on: 2/14/2024

In January 2024, the Board of Education adopted new attendance zones to align our student populations with the Long-Range Facility Plan – Phase 1.  In consideration of community input, the board approved a Grandfathering provision to give affected students the option to remain at their current school rather than move to the assigned attendance zone.

Families of students identified to be rezoned from New Hampstead High School, New Hampstead K-8, and Rice Creek K-8 who seek to utilize the Grandfathering provision MUST select this option to provide notification to the school District. The opportunity to “grandfather” identified students was issued via email on Monday, February 12, 2024. The survey came from sccpss@surveys.sccpss.com with the ‘From Name’ being Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools. The survey will remain open through midnight on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Families are reminded to always check your “Junk” or “Spam” folder if the expected survey was not delivered. Please be advised that no response to the survey means your student will default to the new attendance zones adopted for SY 24/25.  The Grandfathering Survey is only intended for students who have been rezoned.

New Hampstead High School (For current 9th, 10th, 11th, grade students)

Any family who does not seek the Grandfathering provision can simply disregard the survey. No action is needed on their end.
