Coastal Middle School and U.S. Coast Guard Station Tybee already have a special relationship.  They have been official “Partners in Education” for two years. The Coast Guard’s Partnership in Education Program is intended to enhance educational opportunities and career awareness for the nation’s youth by encouraging members to participate in school and community activities approved by their local command.

Coastal Middle Principal Allison Schuster-Jones says, “It was nice to be able to support them at this time in a very real way.  Our students came through just because there was a need.  Our students and families donated for all the right reasons.  It was really great!”

Members of the Coast Guard picked up the gift cards from the school on Thursday for distribution to their fellow Coast Guardsmen.
