26th Annual White Coat Ceremony Held For SCCPSS Medical Explorers

​​​On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, twenty-four Savannah-Chatham County Public School System students representing schools throughout the district were presented with their first white coats in a special ceremony at Mercer University School of Medicine. This event marks the beginning of an immersive exploration into careers in the field of health care for these students. Special thanks are given to the advisors and volunteers at Memorial Health University Medical Center, Mercer University School of Medicine, Savannah-Chatham County Public School System and the Coastal Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America. Participating students:

  • Woodville-Tompkins Technical and Career High School: Janiya Bennett, Edna Luna, Kamryn Middleton, Jiya Patel, Pratha Patel, Abraham Rivera​-Trujillo
Coastal Georgia Council Boy Scouts of America serves youth and their families throughout 22 coastal Georgia counties with Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, ScoutReach and Exploring career exploration programs. Exploring, a subsidiary of Boy Scouts of America, is a coeducational career development program. The Boy Scouts of America provides the nation’s foremost youth programs of character development and values-based leadership training, which helps young people be ‘Prepared.
