2023 Georgia High School Level Science and Engineering Fair Awards Announced

The SCCPSS Science Department is celebrating the achievements of Savannah-Chatham County Public School students at the recent State and Regional Fairs. A special congratulations and thank you to Antronella Duff of Jenkins High School and Kathleen Holliday of Tybee Island Maritime Academy for their dedication, guidance, and support of our highly celebrated students!

American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics

With nearly 30,000 individual members from 91 countries, and 95 corporate members, AIAA is the world's largest technical society dedicated to the global aerospace profession. Created in 1963 by the merger of the two great aerospace societies of the day, the American Rocket Society (founded in 1930 as the American Interplanetary Society), and the Institute of the Aerospace Sciences (established in 1933 as the Institute of the Aeronautical Sciences), AIAA carries forth a proud tradition of more than 80 years of aerospace leadership.

INSPIRING EXCELLENCE AWARD
Inspiring Excellence Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 1999 to encourage elementary and high school science fair participants and their teachers to continue their efforts in science. Inspiring Excellence, Inc gives monetary awards that recognize exceptional enthusiasm, effort, and scientific curiosity. Inspiring Excellence was founded by a science fair winner.

The Air Force Research Laboratory is a global technical enterprise, boasting some of the best and brightest leaders in the world.  The organization's mission is leading the discovery, development, and integration of affordable warfighting technologies for the air, space, and cyberspace force.

Honors Ribbons - Junior Division
Honors ribbons indicate a student's relative position in the overall fair. They do not take into consideration either project category or student's grade, although Junior and Senior divisions are calculated separately. First Honors go to projects with total scores ranking approximately at or above the 90th percentile based on overall scores, regardless of category. Second Honors go to the 80th to 90th percentiles. Third Honors go to the 70th to 80th percentiles. Fourth Honors go to the 60th to 70th percentiles.
